1.
Persuading audience by using number
We used many concrete numbers to demonstrate the phenomenon
of paper waste because we believed number could strength the persuasive power,
it could give receiver a more direct and concise information on specific issue.
We were very happy many audiences appreciated it and learned the knowledge
about deforestation by numbers illustration.
2.
Providing practical suggestions
Firstly, we chose linking the logo to working environment
because it was particularly practical in HK, where was one of an international
business centers, so naturally, many audiences fount it useful for them because
many of them had working experience or at least were going to work sooner or
later. We put forward many specific suggestions, include reducing font size by 1,
printing by both sides, sending and using documents electronically. We believe
these suggestions, although simple, could bring great change to the world. Many
audiences commented to the article that they indeed learned a lot and were
going to do so right now or even thought of more ideas to save the forest by
ourselves, and we were really happy to see that.
3. Making
the article well-organized, clear and simple
There were many
comments that referred to our easy-understanding essay, actually, we tried our
best to make the article easy to read or audience would feel confused and then
would not take accordingly effective actions. And it was not difficult to do as
long as you organized it in an easy way, and made it clear and simple. For
example, the using of head and subhead, a really easy method, could make it much
easier for audiences to read and understand.
It is true that there are still a lot of
places need to be improved and we received many valuable feedback on it and we
are going to pick some critical or interesting things here and reflect on it.
1.
Video speed
There were many audiences commented that the speed of video
run too fast for them to grasp and we admitted that it was true. We at first
believed nobody will feel like to read the long words so we adjusted it in
shorter time but it seems that we were wrong, people still like reading words
when they were interested in our contents although graphs might be more
attractive in most cases. We felt grateful that audiences told it to us and we
will consider it in future learning and work.
2.
Persuading companies by economic
concerns
We focused on persuading people saving paper by telling
them how much paper would be saved if they took certain actions, but actually,
just as a comment said, if we wanted to persuade companies to do so, it would
be better to tell them the economic benefit brought by paper saving because it
would be the most powerful point to persuade them. We considered it a really
good suggestion and we benefited a lot from audiences’ comments. Apart from it,
audiences also provided many valuable advices and our group were very happy
that the assignments really worked.
